ABOUT THE EVENT: This walk explores a city rich with hidden architectural treasures and little-known historical stories. We'll delve deep into the heart of the former French and British concessions, bringing back to life the Tianjin of the early 1900's. The tour begins at Exit B of the Jinwan Plaza Subway station, where we will proceed to the Jiefang Bridge and then to Jiefang Road, once one of the city's main centers of commerce and activity. We'll pass by historic banks, trading houses, government buildings, clubs and religious structures (including a stop at the Anglican Church where you can step inside to learn about its history and enjoy a complimentary drink). We then proceed to the Wudadao (Five Boulevards) area, formerly a residential district. We will conclude the walking tour outside the restaurant Smoki & Co. All participants are welcome to join an optional lunch, which will be at an additional pay-as-you-go cost for each individual.
