MORE ABOUT THE EVENT:
Advertisements and commercials โ now digital screens have joined print ads as the wallpaper of our lives. While they are designed to sell a product, to be effective they normally have to tap into some aspect of public life or aspiration โ they can be serious or comic, literal or ironic. Charley Kan, who has been at the forefront of advertising in China for 30 years, will be talking about the ways advertising and policy have impacted each other, and how advertising has created or reflected societal dreams from the early days of China's Economic Reform and Opening up to today. Charley will illustrate his talk with many examples.
