MORE ABOUT THE EVENT: For several weeks RASBJ's Books & Bubbles group has been discussing "The Last Chinese Chef" online. Now we'll meet in-person to enjoy an early Chinese dinner, and reflect on the discussion of Nicole Mones' novel. If you haven't taken part in the discussion, you're still welcome to taste Chinese food as the emperors knew it! Our book-within-a-book introduced readers to the stunning world of Chinese Imperial Cuisine. Now, see Sam Liang's family restaurant near Houhai come to life in the 40-year-old restaurant Li Jia Cai that helped inspire the author -- we'll enjoy a set menu of imperial dishes plus sparkling wine.
