Co-founder of the Temple 东景缘
Juan van Wassenhove has been living in Hong Kong and mainland China for over 20 years. He is a Belgian national and was a banker with JPMorgan Chase for many years before moving in late 2008 to Beijing with the daunting task to renovate the Zhizhusi temple, or “Temple of Wisdom”. One of the most attractive spots in Beijing with more than 120,000 visitors a year, the Temple received in 2012 the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Award for Cultural Heritage Conservation and was classified as a national historical building in 2019.
