WHAT: RASBJ Celebrates the Holidays, featuring Songs and Stories with Graham Earnshaw.
WHEN: 6:00-8:00PM (Beijing time), Friday December 12. Doors open at 6:00. Graham Earnshaw will present stories and songs from 6:30-7:10. Magician Fred Castelbranco will demonstrate sleight of hand with cards, to a few people at a time, from 7:00-8:00 PM.

ABOUT THE EVENT: Some of us have seen China's changes, but not every can make us laugh by telling stories and singing songs about them. Join us for a lighthearted holiday celebration featuring stories and songs with Graham Earnshaw, who used to play his guitar at the Lido Hotel in the 80's -- right across the street from our gathering. Graham has lived in China since the 1970's and was a correspondent based in Beijing from 1979. He has also been playing music all the way through and, boy, does he have some stories to tell!
His company Earnshaw Books publishes the annual Royal Asiatic Society China Journal. We'll have some hard copies to reward people who can answer RASBJ trivia questions. Free copies will also be given to non-members who join RASBJ as members on the spot, as well as to members who recruit non-members to join up!
Graham will have the stage from 6:30 to 7:10 PM or so, and from 7:00-8:00 PM magician Fred Castelbranco will circulate among tables to show his skills to a few people at a time. Magic is in the cards!
HOW MUCH: RMB 275 for members of RASBJ and of partner RAS branches in London, Shanghai and Hongkong; RMB 375 for non-members. The price covers a cocktail buffet including two glasses of wine, beer, or soft drinks per person. You may find payment by Alipay easier than by Wechat; you can also pay by credit card. Kindly note that RASBJ does not issue fapiao.

HOW TO JOIN THE EVENT: Please click "Register" or "I will attend" by noon on Dec. 11 and follow the instructions. After successful registration you'll receive a confirmation email. If you seem not to have received it, please check your spam folder. If maximum capacity is reached, those attempting to register will be asked to join a waitlist and waitlistees will be notified automatically if/when spaces open up.
MEMBERS OF PARTNER RAS BRANCHES: Please register 48 hours in advance to allow time for membership verification. You'll receive three emails from us: the first confirming receipt of your registration request, the second requesting payment, and the third confirming receipt of payment. Any registrations which have not been paid for by noon on Dec. 11 will be de-activated.
REFUND POLICY: If RASBJ cancels the event, registrants will be refunded in full.
