WHAT: RASBJ and Canaan Winery Present: A Wine and Jazz Festival
WHEN: Saturday, September 5th, 2-11 PM
WHERE: We will take a two-hour coach ride to Canaan Winery in Huailai county, just across the provincial border into Hebei. Pickup and drop off are from the Hilton at Liangmahe, 1 Dongfang Lu, Dong Sanhuan Lu ๅไบฌๅธๆ้ณๅบไธไธ็ฏๅ่ทฏไธๆน่ทฏ1ๅท ๅไบฌๅธๅฐ้กฟ้ ๅบ. ABOUT THE EVENT: Escape the city to the vineyards for an afternoon of Chinese wines, dinner and live jazz. Arriving at Canaan Winery by coach from the downtown Hilton, guests will be welcomed with a guided tasting session led by the winemaking team, offering an introduction to some highly acclaimed Chinese wines. The wine-tasting will take place alongside Canaan's wine cellars, where guests will learn about the characteristics of the local region. The afternoon continues with more wine, followed by a buffet dinner overlooking the vines. For a memorable end to the day, as dusk falls, acclaimed pianist Dave Ye and his jazz quartet will perform a live open-air concert. At 9 PM, we will board the coach to return to Beijing, with an expected arrival time of 11 PM.
ABOUT THE WINERY: TheCanaan vineyards were planted in 2009 after a panel of experts considering soil quality and climate selected the site in Hebei, alongside the Guanting Reservoir. Today, its three vineyards range from 498m above sea level to 1050m, allowing for different growing conditions and varieties. In 2023 and 2024, Canaan Winery was named among the World's Top 100 Vineyards, the only Chinese winery to make the list two years running.
HOW MUCH: The cost per person is RMB 750. Places (initial priority to members) are limited to 25 and will be allocated in order of receipt of payment, so early booking is advised. HOW TO JOIN THE EVENT: Registration opens Saturday Aug 15 9.00 AM. Please click "Register" or "I Will Attend" and follow the instructions, which will include providing your WeChat ID so that we can reach you with any last-minute information and updates โ very important! After successful registration, you will receive a confirmation email. If you seem not to have received it, please check your spam folder. Members will have priority until 9 PM on Sunday August 16.

REFUND POLICY: If the event is cancelled or postponed by RASBJ, all registrants will receive refunds in full. Registrants wishing to cancel for their own reasons will be refunded if cancellation is received via email to communications@rasbj.org by Sept 1, so that your place can be offered to those on the waiting list.
