ABOUT THE EVENT: Drawing on over 15 years of observation and practice, Elizabeth will share her observations on the development and current state of civil society in China. She will reflect on domestic civil society, international NGOs working in and with China, and the relationship between the two.Elizabeth served as the Regional Director of the Ford Foundation's China office from 2013 to 2023. She moved to China in 1998 to serve as the American co-director of the Hopkins-Nanjing Center for Chinese and American Studies, and worked in the private sector in Beijing for over a decade. She currently lives in New York City as is a Senior Fellow at the Center for China Analysis at the Asia Society Policy Institute.

HOW MUCH: To register for the dinner, please pay a RMB 100 deposit in advance. On the night of the event, the remaining cost of dinner will be split among attendees present, and is expected to be an additional 325-425 RMB per person, payable via Alipay or Wechat. The RMB 100 deposit will go towards each registrant's share of the total dinner bill. If the dinner becomes fully booked, you can register for the waiting list and will be informed if a space opens up; RASBJ members will receive priority. For payment of the RMB 100 deposit, you may find Alipay easier than Wechat. You can also pay by credit card. Please kindly note that RASBJ does not offer fapiao. The deposit will not be refunded for cancellations after Oct. 31
